Sketch Day 005

What if I turned this nearly flawless black-lipped pearl into a pendant top?
That question sparked today’s rough sketch.

What came to mind was a childhood memory—
a grand chandelier hanging from the ceiling of a department store I visited with my mother.
The crystal pieces sparkled endlessly,
and I remember gazing up at them in awe.

I’ve always loved things that sparkle.
Pairing that memory of shimmering light with the deep luster of a black pearl felt just right—
as if they could enhance each other’s beauty.

So I added ornamental details inspired by a chandelier,
imagining it covered in pavé-set melee diamonds.

(Though I didn’t manage to draw all the diamonds—let’s just say it’s part of the charm.)
